If you’re running MySQL on Windows there are a couple of free programs which can help you manage your databases right from your desktop. MySQL Workbench is a particularly feature-rich and intuitive program for working with your MySQL installation. The download, on this page, includes both MySQL Workbench and MySQL Front (another free MySQL management tool). It also include a few random files which I’ve included to aid installation. MySQL Workbench, for instance, requires Net Framework and MS Visual C++. They’re included in this .zip file.
