This setup works just fine and reduces the number of machines to<br \/>\n    maintain. If you have a larger office you may want to consider separating<br \/>\n    the Active Directory machine and the Exchange 2010 Server.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p><b><a name=\"Install_Windows_Server_2008_64_bit_version\">Install Windows Server 2008<br \/>\n\t\t\tR2 64 bit version<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n<div style=\"line-height: 110%; font-size: 14px; width: 570px;\">Exchange 2010 is a 64 bit application and requires 64 bit versions of Windows Server 2003 or Windows Server 2008.&nbsp; You should select a computer that is capable of running the 64 bit version of Windows Server 2003 or 2008.  For this example, we will start with a clean installation of Windows Server 2008 R2 64 bit version that has not had any roles installed.<\/div>\n<p><P><\/p>\n<div style=\"line-height: 110%; font-size: 14px; width: 570px;\">\nAfter installing Windows Server 2008 R2 we set the clock and the name of the server to be &#8220;EX2010&#8221;.&nbsp; At this point this server is configured to be a stand alone computer with default settings.<\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>\n\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"http:\/\/www.webputzer.com\/images\/exchange-2010-pre-setup-initial-screen.jpg\" width=\"550\"><\/p>\n<p><b><a name=\"Configure_Your_Static_IP_Address\">Configure Your Static IP Address<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n<p>The default installation of Windows 2008 sets your IP v4 and IP v6<br \/>\n\t\taddresses to use DHCP.&nbsp; Since we will be configuring this computer<br \/>\n\t\tto be a domain controller, you must change the IP address of the computer<br \/>\n\t\tto be a static IP address.<\/p>\n<p>To change your IP address, click on &#8220;View Network Connections&#8221; in the<br \/>\n\t\tServer Manager screen.&nbsp; This will display the list of active<br \/>\n\t\tnetwork interfaces.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"http:\/\/www.webputzer.com\/images\/exchange-2010-pre-setup-network-define-static-ip-step1.jpg\" width=\"550\" height=\"329\"><\/p>\n<p>Double click on your network adaptor to display the adaptors status.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"http:\/\/www.webputzer.com\/images\/exchange-2010-pre-setup-network-define-static-ip-step2.jpg\" width=\"367\" height=\"443\"><\/p>\n<p>Press the Properties button.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"http:\/\/www.webputzer.com\/images\/exchange-2010-pre-setup-network-define-static-ip-step3.jpg\" width=\"367\" height=\"461\"><\/p>\n<p>Highlight &#8220;Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP\/IPv4)&#8221; and then press the<br \/>\n\t\tProperties button.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"http:\/\/www.webputzer.com\/images\/exchange-2010-pre-setup-network-define-static-ip-step4.jpg\" width=\"404\" height=\"448\"><\/p>\n<p>Change the radio button to &#8220;Use the following IP address&#8221; and enter<br \/>\n\t\tan IP address you want to use for this server.&nbsp; In our example, we<br \/>\n\t\tchose to assign this server the internal IP address &#8220;192.168.1.25&#8221;.&nbsp;<br \/>\n\t\tWe also have a firewall appliance that operates as a gateway at the IP<br \/>\n\t\taddress &#8220;192.168.1.1&#8221;.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>NOTE: It is important to include this computer in the DNS list.&nbsp;<br \/>\n\t\tYou should list the IP address of this computer as the first entry in<br \/>\n\t\tthe list of DNS servers.&nbsp; In the alternate DNS servers field, enter<br \/>\n\t\tthe IP address of a DNS server provided by your ISP.<\/p>\n<p>Press OK to save your changes.<\/p>\n<p>Now you will need to modify the support for IP v6.&nbsp; If your<br \/>\n\t\tnetwork uses IP v6, then you will need to select &#8220;Internet Protocol<br \/>\n\t\tVersion 6 (TCP\/IPv6)&#8221; , press the Properties button, then enter a<br \/>\n\t\tstatic address.&nbsp; If you are not using IP v6, you can leave the IP v6<br \/>\n\t\tset to the default setting of DHCP.<\/p>\n<p><font color=\"#FF0000\"><b>NOTE:&nbsp; Exchange requires that IP V6 be<br \/>\n\t\tenabled.&nbsp; Even if you do not use IP V6 you must leave it enabled.&nbsp;<br \/>\n\t\tDuring the setup of Active Directory, the Active Directory Setup Wizard<br \/>\n\t\twill check that both IP v4 and IP v6 have static addresses.&nbsp; As long as<br \/>\n\t\tthe IP v4 address is static you can continue the installation.&nbsp; DO<br \/>\n\t\tNOT DISABLE IP V6 or else the Exchange Hub Transport Service will not<br \/>\n\t\tstart.<\/b><\/font><\/p>\n<p>At this point you should have all IP addresses on this server<br \/>\n\t\tconfigured as static IP addresses.&nbsp; OR you have the IP v4 address<br \/>\n\t\tconfigured as static and the IP v6 configured using DHCP.&nbsp; Press OK to save your changes and close<br \/>\n\t\tthe Network Connection screen.<\/p>\n<p><b><a name=\"Activate_Auto_Update\">Activate Auto Update<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n<p>The next step in making this server a Domain Controller is to<br \/>\n\t\tactivate auto update.&nbsp; Active Directory will not install until this<br \/>\n\t\tcomputer has auto updates active.&nbsp; To activate auto updates, click<br \/>\n\t\ton the link &#8220;Configure Updates&#8221; and then select the<br \/>\n\t\toption to have Windows automatically install updates.&nbsp;&nbsp; At<br \/>\n\t\tthis time Windows will download updates and will most likely need to<br \/>\n\t\treboot your computer.&nbsp; Allow the updates to be applied and the<br \/>\n\t\tcomputer to be restarted until all updates are applied <u>before<\/u> installing<br \/>\n\t\tActive Directory.&nbsp; You do not want to be in the middle of<br \/>\n\t\tinstalling Active Directory when an auto update needs to reboot your<br \/>\n\t\tcomputer.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"http:\/\/www.webputzer.com\/images\/exchange-2010-pre-setup-activate-auto-updates.jpg\" width=\"404\" height=\"304\"><\/p>\n<p><b><a name=\"Add_role_-_Active_Directory_Services\">Add role &#8211; Active Directory Services<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n<p>The process of installing Active Directory consists of two steps:&nbsp; the<br \/>\n\t\tfirst step is to install Active Directory and the second step is to<br \/>\n\t\tconfigure your Active Directory.&nbsp; Once this is complete, your<br \/>\n\t\tWindows Server will now be a Domain Controller.<\/p>\n<p><b>Step 1 &#8211; Install Active Directory<\/b><\/p>\n<p>At the Computer Management Screen, press the &#8220;Add Roles&#8221; link.&nbsp;<br \/>\n\t\t<br \/>\n\t\tAt the Select Server Roles dialog, check\/tick the option &#8220;Active<br \/>\n\t\tDirectory Domain Services&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"http:\/\/www.webputzer.com\/images\/exchange-2010-pre-setup-add-role-active-directory-step1.jpg\" width=\"550\" height=\"414\"><\/p>\n<p>When you select Active Directory the Select Server Roles Screen will<br \/>\n\t\tinform you that you also need to install the feature &#8220;.NET Framework<br \/>\n\t\t3.5.1&#8221;.&nbsp; Press the &#8220;Add Required Features&#8221; button.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"http:\/\/www.webputzer.com\/images\/exchange-2010-pre-setup-add-role-active-directory-step2.jpg\" width=\"550\" height=\"264\"><\/p>\n<p>After acknowledging the required feature, press Next.<\/p>\n<p>Active Directory Domain Services will present information about the<br \/>\n\t\tchanges it will make to your server.&nbsp; Review this information and<br \/>\n\t\tpress Next.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"http:\/\/www.webputzer.com\/images\/exchange-2010-pre-setup-add-role-active-directory-step3.jpg\" width=\"550\" height=\"414\"><\/p>\n<p>Now the installation will scan your configuration and inform you if<br \/>\n\t\tthere are any pre-requisites that you have not fulfilled.&nbsp; If the<br \/>\n\t\tActive Directory Installation presents an errors, correct these at this<br \/>\n\t\ttime and then repeat the installation.&nbsp; Once the Setup program<br \/>\n\t\tindicates that you have met all pre-requisites, then press the<br \/>\n\t\tInstall button to start the installation process.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"http:\/\/www.webputzer.com\/images\/exchange-2010-pre-setup-add-role-active-directory-step4.jpg\" width=\"550\" height=\"404\"><\/p>\n<p>The setup program will now install Active Directory on your Server.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"http:\/\/www.webputzer.com\/images\/exchange-2010-pre-setup-add-role-active-directory-step5.jpg\" width=\"550\" height=\"405\"><\/p>\n<p>When the installation is complete, you should see a message indicating<br \/>\n\t\t&#8220;Installation Succeeded&#8221;.&nbsp; <br \/>\n\t\tPress Close to return to the Server Management<br \/>\n\t\tScreen.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"http:\/\/www.webputzer.com\/images\/exchange-2010-pre-setup-add-role-active-directory-step6.jpg\" width=\"550\" height=\"405\"><\/p>\n<p><b>Step 2 &#8211; Configure Active Directory<\/b><\/p>\n<p>At the Server Management screen you should now see that you have 1<br \/>\n\t\trole installed.&nbsp; The Active Directory Domain Services may indicate<br \/>\n\t\tthat it is installed but there are errors.&nbsp; This is because the<br \/>\n\t\tsoftware is installed but not configured.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"http:\/\/www.webputzer.com\/images\/exchange-2010-pre-setup-add-role-active-directory-step7.jpg\" width=\"550\" height=\"587\"><\/p>\n<p>To configure Active Directory, click on the line under Roles labeled<br \/>\n\t\t&#8220;Active Directory Domain Services&#8221;.&nbsp; The Server Manager will show<br \/>\n\t\tyou a page about the status of the Active Directory Role.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"http:\/\/www.webputzer.com\/images\/exchange-2010-pre-setup-add-role-active-directory-step8.jpg\" width=\"550\" height=\"587\"><\/p>\n<p>Click on the link &#8220;Run the Active Directory Services<br \/>\n\t\tInstallation Wizard (dcpromo.exe)&#8221;.&nbsp; When the<br \/>\n\t\tActive Directory Domain Services Installation Wizard appears, press<br \/>\n\t\tNext.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"http:\/\/www.webputzer.com\/images\/exchange-2010-pre-setup-domain-controller-step1.jpg\" width=\"550\" height=\"414\"><\/p>\n<p>The Installation Wizard will present information about the version of<br \/>\n\t\tActive directory, press Next.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"http:\/\/www.webputzer.com\/images\/exchange-2010-pre-setup-domain-controller-step2.jpg\" width=\"550\" height=\"414\"><\/p>\n<p>Since we are assuming this Exchange Server will be the first Domain<br \/>\n\t\tController, we choose &#8220;create a new domain in a new forest&#8221;.&nbsp; Press<br \/>\n\t\tNext.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"http:\/\/www.webputzer.com\/images\/exchange-2010-pre-setup-domain-controller-step3.jpg\" width=\"550\" height=\"414\"><\/p>\n<p>Enter the name of your domain.&nbsp; The domain name you enter here<br \/>\n\t\tis the domain name that Exchange will associated with all of your email.&nbsp;<br \/>\n\t\tIf you use a hosting company to host your Internet Domain, then you may<br \/>\n\t\twant to enter the name of your Internet domain with &#8220;.local&#8221;.&nbsp; If<br \/>\n\t\tyou host your own Internet Domain then you would enter your domain name<br \/>\n\t\there.<\/p>\n<p>In our example, we are assuming that IGetMail.com is hosted at an<br \/>\n\t\tInternet Hosting Company.&nbsp; Since we do not host IGetMail.com on<br \/>\n\t\tthis Exchange Server, we will use IGetMail.local to indicate our<br \/>\n\t\tinternal domain for IGetMail.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p><b>NOTE:&nbsp; Once you enter your domain name it is very hard to change<br \/>\n\t\tit in the future, so you should take great care when enter this name.&nbsp;<br \/>\n\t\t<\/b> <\/p>\n<p>Once you have decided on the name of your internal domain, that will<br \/>\n\t\tbe your Active Directory Domain and the domain serviced by Exchange,<br \/>\n\t\tpress Next.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"http:\/\/www.webputzer.com\/images\/exchange-2010-pre-setup-domain-controller-step4.jpg\" width=\"550\" height=\"414\"><\/p>\n<p>The Installation Wizard will now ask you about compatibility.&nbsp;<br \/>\n\t\tIf you plan to have domain controllers running various versions of<br \/>\n\t\tActive Directory, then you will want to chose a function level to include<br \/>\n\t\tthe lowest version of Windows that you are using for domain controllers.&nbsp;<br \/>\n\t\tPress Next.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"http:\/\/www.webputzer.com\/images\/exchange-2010-pre-setup-domain-controller-step5.jpg\" width=\"550\" height=\"414\"><\/p>\n<p>You will be asked a similar question which is at the domain<br \/>\n\t\tlevel instead of the forest level on the previous screen.&nbsp; You<br \/>\n\t\tshould follow the same approach and include the function level to<br \/>\n\t\tinclude the lowest version of Windows you plan to use for domain<br \/>\n\t\tcontrollers.&nbsp; Press Next.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"http:\/\/www.webputzer.com\/images\/exchange-2010-pre-setup-domain-controller-step6.jpg\" width=\"550\" height=\"414\"><\/p>\n<p>The first Domain Controller needs to have a DNS server running<br \/>\n\t\tlocally.&nbsp; The optimal location is to start out with having the<br \/>\n\t\tinstallation wizard install the DNS server locally.&nbsp; Also, it will<br \/>\n\t\tautomatically make this computer a global catalog server.&nbsp; Press<br \/>\n\t\tNext.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"http:\/\/www.webputzer.com\/images\/exchange-2010-pre-setup-domain-controller-step7.jpg\" width=\"550\" height=\"414\"><\/p>\n<p>You can specify where you want Active Directory to store its data.&nbsp;<br \/>\n\t\tIf you only have one drive in your Server, then use the defaults.&nbsp;<br \/>\n\t\tIf you have multiple drives, you can select which drive to use.&nbsp;<br \/>\n\t\tPress Next. <\/p>\n<p>\n\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"http:\/\/www.webputzer.com\/images\/exchange-2010-pre-setup-domain-controller-step8.jpg\" width=\"550\" height=\"414\"><\/p>\n<p>Should you need to restore Active Directory in the event of a hard<br \/>\n\t\tdrive failure, you will need to boot your Server into a special mode<br \/>\n\t\tcalled &#8220;Directory Restoration Mode&#8221;.&nbsp; Should you need to boot your<br \/>\n\t\tcomputer into this special mode, you will need to use a special password<br \/>\n\t\tjust for this restoration.&nbsp; You can define this password at this<br \/>\n\t\ttime.&nbsp; <b>NOTE:&nbsp; This password is different than the<br \/>\n\t\tadministrator account and if you change the administrator password this<br \/>\n\t\tpassword will not change.&nbsp; So you will need to store this password<br \/>\n\t\tforever in a safe place.<\/b>&nbsp; Press Next.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"http:\/\/www.webputzer.com\/images\/exchange-2010-pre-setup-domain-controller-step9.jpg\" width=\"550\" height=\"414\"><\/p>\n<p>Now the Installation Wizard will summarize the configuration that it<br \/>\n\t\tis about to create.&nbsp; To start the process of configuring<br \/>\n\t\tyour new Domain Controller, press Next.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"http:\/\/www.webputzer.com\/images\/exchange-2010-pre-setup-domain-controller-step10.jpg\" width=\"550\" height=\"414\"><\/p>\n<p>The Installation Wizard will show its progress as it configures your<br \/>\n\t\tServer.&nbsp;&nbsp; In order to use this method, the<br \/>\n\t\tExchange user account must be a member of the Exchange Server Group<br \/>\n\t\twithin Active Directory.<\/p>\n<p><a name=\"Setup_Authenticated_Access\">To setup Authenticated Access:<\/a><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Open the Exchange Management Console<\/li>\n<li>Expand &#8220;Server Configuration&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Select &#8220;Hub Transport&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>In the middle section of the Management Console you will see the<br \/>\n\t\t\tlist of Receive Connectors.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>\n\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"http:\/\/www.webputzer.com\/images\/exchange-2010-authenticate1.jpg\" width=\"550\" height=\"421\"><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Right click on the Receive Connector &#8220;Default ServerName&#8221; and<br \/>\n\t\t\tchoose Properties<\/li>\n<li>Select the &#8220;Authentication&#8221; tab.<\/li>\n<li>If you do not have an SSL certificate from a third party SSL<br \/>\n\t\t\tprovider, then Uncheck \/ Untick the option &#8220;Offer Basic<br \/>\n\t\t\tauthentication only after starting TLS&#8221;.&nbsp; By default Exchange<br \/>\n\t\t\twill not allow users to authenticate until you have an SSL<br \/>\n\t\t\tcertificate.&nbsp; Unchecking \/ Unticking &#8220;Offer Basic<br \/>\n\t\t\tauthentication only after starting TLS,&#8221; allows Exchange to offer<br \/>\n\t\t\tAuthenticated login over standard SMTP. <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>\n\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"http:\/\/www.webputzer.com\/images\/exchange-2010-authenticate2.jpg\" width=\"444\" height=\"497\"><\/p>\n<p>When you configure IGetMail, you will need to specify a Windows user<br \/>\n\t\tthat meets these two requirements.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Windows account must have a mailbox in Exchange<\/li>\n<li>The Windows user must be a member of the group &#8220;Exchange<br \/>\n\t\t\tServers&#8221;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Commonly, the Administrator account does not work because it does not<br \/>\n\t\thave a mailbox and a standard Windows account is normally not a member<br \/>\n\t\tof the Exchange Server group.&nbsp; To solve this you can either give<br \/>\n\t\tthe administrator a mailbox, or in our example below we created a Windows<br \/>\n\t\tuser, made this Windows user a member of the &#8220;Exchange Servers&#8221; groups,<br \/>\n\t\tand then created a mailbox for the user.&nbsp; In our example this new<br \/>\n\t\tWindows user is named &#8220;IGetMail&#8221;.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Run Active Directory for Users and Computers.<\/li>\n<li>Select the Users group in the column on the left.<\/li>\n<li>Right Click and add a new user.&nbsp; In our case we choose to<br \/>\n\t\t\tname this new user &#8220;IGetMail&#8221; since we will use this Windows user<br \/>\n\t\t\taccount to route the email through as the email is delivered to all<br \/>\n\t\t\tof the other users within Exchange.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>\n\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"http:\/\/www.webputzer.com\/images\/exchange-2010-authenticate3.jpg\" width=\"550\" height=\"409\"><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Select the Window user account that you want to have IGetMail<br \/>\n\t\t\tuse to connect to your Exchange Server.&nbsp; Right click on the<br \/>\n\t\t\tuser name and choose Properties.<\/li>\n<li>Go to the &#8220;Member Of&#8221; panel.<\/li>\n<li>Press the Add&#8230; button.<\/li>\n<li>Add the Group &#8220;Exchange Servers&#8221; to make this Windows account a<br \/>\n\t\t\tmember of the &#8220;Exchange Servers&#8221; group.&nbsp; This will grant this<br \/>\n\t\t\tWindows account the rights to route email to other users.&nbsp; This<br \/>\n\t\t\tis needed for IGetMail to route email to your users.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>\n\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"http:\/\/www.webputzer.com\/images\/exchange-2010-authenticate4.jpg\" width=\"424\" height=\"531\"><\/p>\n<p>Next we need to add a mailbox to the Windows account that IGetMail<br \/>\n\t\twill use for authentication.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Run the Exchange Management Console<\/li>\n<li>Expand &#8220;Recipient Configuration&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Select Mailbox to show a list of existing Exchange Users<\/li>\n<li>Right Click on &#8220;Mailbox&#8221; under &#8220;Recipient Configuration&#8221; and<br \/>\n\t\t\tselect New Mailbox or Click on New Mailbox in the Actions Column on<br \/>\n\t\t\tthe right hand side.<\/li>\n<li>Add the Windows account that you want IGetMail to use to the<br \/>\n\t\t\tlist of Exchange users. In our example below we have added the<br \/>\n\t\t\taccount &#8220;IGetMail&#8221; to the list of Exchange Users.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>\n\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"http:\/\/www.webputzer.com\/images\/exchange-2010-authenticate5.jpg\" width=\"550\" height=\"421\"><\/p>\n<p>Now Run IGetMail<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>At the Status Panel, press the &#8220;Modify SMTP Settings&#8221; button.<\/li>\n<li>Check \/ Tick the option &#8220;Authenticate as &#8211; &#8221; <\/li>\n<li>Enter the Name of a Windows User Name that you want IGetMail to<br \/>\n\t\t\tuse to connect to the Exchange Server.&nbsp; This Windows account<br \/>\n\t\t\tmust have a mailbox in Exchange and must be a member of the<br \/>\n\t\t\t&#8220;Exchange Servers&#8221; group.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>\n\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"http:\/\/www.webputzer.com\/images\/exchange-2010-authenticate6.jpg\" width=\"526\" height=\"335\"><\/p>\n<p>IGetMail is now configured to send email to your Exchange Server.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<hr width=\"75%\">\n<p><a name=\"Setup_Anonymous_Access\">To Setup Anonymous Access:<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Anonymous access &#8211; With anonymous access you can allow anyone to send<br \/>\n\t\temail to any of your users.&nbsp; In this case, IGetMail only has to<br \/>\n\t\tconnect to the Exchange Server.&nbsp; It does not need to log into a Windows<br \/>\n\t\tAccount.<\/p>\n<p>To configure Exchange to allow any user to route email perform these<br \/>\n\t\tsteps:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Open the Exchange Management Console<\/li>\n<li>Expand &#8220;Server Configuration&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Select &#8220;Hub Transport&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>In the middle section of the Management Console you will see the<br \/>\n\t\t\tlist of Receive Connectors<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>\n\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"http:\/\/www.webputzer.com\/images\/exchange-2010-authenticate1.jpg\" width=\"550\" height=\"421\"><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Right click on the Receive Connector &#8220;Default ServerName&#8221; and<br \/>\n\t\t\tchoose Properties<\/li>\n<li>Select the &#8220;Permissions Group&#8221; tab<\/li>\n<li>Check \/ Tick &#8220;Anonymous Users&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Save your changes<\/li>\n<li>Now anyone can connect to the Exchange Server and route email to<br \/>\n\t\t\tany user<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>\n\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"http:\/\/www.webputzer.com\/images\/exchange-2010-anonymous1.jpg\" width=\"444\" height=\"497\"><\/p>\n<p><b>IGetMail Version 1.x and 2.x instructions:<\/b><\/p>\n<p>When you are running IGetMail Version 2.x and 1.x you need to allow<br \/>\n\t\tanonymous SMTP connections for your server.<\/p>\n<p>Method 1 &#8211; Run the Exchange Management Console.&nbsp; Expand the<br \/>\n\t\tServer Configuration and select Hub transport.&nbsp; In the lower half<br \/>\n\t\tof the screen under the tab &#8220;Receive Connectors&#8221; right click on the<br \/>\n\t\tconnect labeled &#8220;Default &lt;Name Of Your Server&gt;&#8221; and select Properties.&nbsp;<br \/>\n\t\tAt the Properties for the default server select the Permissions Group<br \/>\n\t\ttab.&nbsp; At the Permissions Group Tab, check \/ tick the option<br \/>\n\t\tAnonymous and save your changes.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>Method 2 &#8211; Run the following management shell command (note this is<br \/>\n\t\tthe Exchange Management shell and not the PowerShell):<\/p>\n<p>Set-ReceiveConnector -Identity &#8220;Default &lt;ServerName&gt;&#8221; -PermissionGroups &#8220;AnonymousUsers&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Where you would replace &lt;ServerName&gt; with the computer name of this<br \/>\n\t\tserver.<\/p>\n<hr width=\"75%\">\n<p><b><a name=\"adding\"><font size=\"2\">Adding E-Mail Users<\/font><\/a><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Run the Exchange Management Console.&nbsp; Expand the item<br \/>\n\t\t\t&#8220;Recipient Configuration&#8221; and select Mailbox.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"http:\/\/www.webputzer.com\/images\/exchange-2010-authenticate5.jpg\" width=\"550\" height=\"421\"><\/p>\n<p>Click on the option &#8220;New Mailbox&#8221; in the right hand panel under the<br \/>\n\t\tActions column heading.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"http:\/\/www.webputzer.com\/images\/exchange-2010-setup-create-user-step2.jpg\" width=\"550\" height=\"480\"><\/p>\n<p>Proceed through the wizard to create each of your new users.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><b><font size=\"3\"><\/p>\n<table width=\"300\" height=\"400\">\n<td><\/td>\n<\/table>\n<\/tr>\n<\/table>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; How to Setup Exchange Server 2010 Follow the steps below to correctly configure your Exchange Server 2010 email server for general use, and for use with IGetMail.&nbsp; Note that for this document we are assuming you are installing Exchange 2010 on Windows Server 2008 R2 64 Bit.
